High School Principal
The end of the 3rd quarter will be March 28th. This is a change from the original schedule due to the many snow days this quarter. Students who have assignments to make up or projects due need to complete those before the end of the quarter. The report cards will be ready to be downloaded from PowerSchool on April 4th. If you are unable to get one, please call the school and we will be happy to send you one.
Congratulations are in order for Senior Lane Davis. He has been selected to the IHSA Honorable Mention All-State Academic Team. Lane was one of 50 students out of 490 who was selected by the evaluation committee for this honor.
The WYSE Team will be competing at the Sectional Tournament on March 4, 2014, in Jacksonville. GOOD LUCK!
The sophomores will be attending a Career Fair at John Wood Community College on Tuesday, March 11th. Students will have the opportunity to listen to a variety of speakers in their chosen field. The speakers will discuss the pros and cons of each career. This career fair will help the students choose classes here at Unity.
The Annual Lip Sync night will be March 14th beginning at 7:00 pm

The Unit 4 Sports Boosters will hold their annual 3 on 3 Hoopsfest Basketball tournament on Saturday, March 22nd.
The West Central Conference Art Show will be on March 28th at Warsaw.
All spring sports will be starting the end of this month. Please support the Mustangs and Lady Mustangs in their spring endeavors.
Just a reminder we are still in need of Senior Pictures for graduation. The pictures should include the following:
A possible assortment of pictures might include:
We would also like group pictures of the Senior Class to run before the graduation when everyone is waiting for the ceremony to begin. These pictures should include, the Early Years, Proms, Senior Nights, Class Composites, etc.
Please label all photos and have your senior bring them to the school office. I would also suggest that they be placed in a protective cover, such a plastic bag. They will be returned as soon as they are scanned.
With spring right around the corner hopefully the weather will be warm and this administrator will be able shine up the golf clubs and play a few rounds.

Middle School Principal
All MS students will be taking their annual state tests (ISAT) for reading and math on March 4 – 6. In addition, the 7th grade students will be testing on Friday, March 7 in the area of science. Please encourage your student to get plenty of rest for these tests. Spring break will be held on March 20 & 21. Friday, March 28 is the end of the 3rd quarter. The end of 3rd quarter was moved because of all the snow days used during the 3rd quarter. Report cards will be distributed on Friday, April 4.
The 7th grade volleyball team is competing in the regional at Pittsfield starting on Tuesday, March 4. The 8th grade volleyball team will start their regional on Tuesday, March 11. 6th grade honor choir will be performing at Culver-Stockton on Monday, March 3 at 7:00. The 7th & 8th grade choir will be performing at Payson on Tuesday, March 18.

Freshmen Fundraising
The freshmen class will be selling Scentsy products once again! Packets will be handed out on Wednesday, February 26th during the freshmen class meeting in the gym. Orders are due on Friday, March 14th. Please contact Mrs. Buettner or Ms. Mayberry with any questions. We were able to raise $1000 dollars, a 33% profit from net sales, this past fall with this fundraiser! Thank you to Tammy Pilkington for this great opportunity.
