The Mendon Lions Club Student of the Month for November was Makyla Baker, she is the daughter of Allyn and Sandra Conover, congratulations to Makyla.
The High School had 126 parent groups attend the Parent/Teacher Conferences on October 24-25. Thanks to the parents who attended the conferences.

The West Central Conference Choir/Band Festival was held at Macomb on November 12. The following students took part in the festival: Aspen Justice, Valerie Kirkpatrick, Kayla Gronewold, Laurie Gronewold, Mark Jansen, and Camber Flick.
The winter sports season has begun, please be sure and support both the Lady Mustangs and the Mustangs.
The Boys’ Basketball Team will open the season at the Southeastern Tournament.
The Varsity Girls’ Basketball Tournament will be held December 9-14. The Lady Mustangs are the defending champion.
The Unit 4 Christmas Concert will be held on December 17, 2013, beginning at 7:00 pm
The MVIT Tournament will be held December 26-30. We are looking forward to an excellent tournament again this year.
The Girls will compete in the Beardstown Tournament December 26-28.
I would like to wish all of our students, staff, and parents a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Middle School Principal
The HS/MS sponsored a Veteran’s Day assembly on Friday, November 8. Over 50 veterans were in attendance. Several student groups performed during the assembly. $1500 was raised to send area veterans on the Great River Honor Flight.
We only have 3 weeks of school left before Christmas Break and the end of 2nd quarter. Please remind your students to keep up on their studies. 7th and 8th grade students will be taking a semester exam which will be worth 10% of their 2nd quarter grade. Students are reminded that they must be passing English, Language Arts and Math in order to move on to the next grade.
The 5th & 6th graders will be going to Quincy for bowling on December. The 7th and 8th graders will go to Quincy for bowling on December 16.
