APRIL NEWS
PARCC testing has been completed at the middle school. Testing included a 3-part English/Language Arts exam and a 2-part Math Exam. This part of the testing was to evaluate what our students have learned after completing 75% of the school year. Students will be tested again sometime in May to evaluate their end of year knowledge. This will be a 2-part English/Language Arts exam and a 2-part Math exam for 6th – 8th graders. 5th graders will take a 1-part English/Language Arts exam and a 2-part Math exam.
The last day of school will now be Wednesday, May 27 with a 2:00 dismissal. As the weather continues to warm up, student’s minds seem to wander to other activities. Continue to monitor your child’s progress via Power School. The office will be sending home letters soon to those students that are in danger of failing for the year. Encourage your child to complete their homework first and play later.
All incoming 6th graders will need a physical, dental exam, and Tdap vaccine. Appointments fill up quickly during the summer. Make sure your child gets the needed examinations and vaccines early. Your child will not be able to attend school in the fall until these items are completed. Also, if your child plans to participate in athletics next school year, they will need a recent physical.
